TEST ENVIRONMENT — not the Rosse Engraving shop. Payments use Square Sandbox test cards only; no real money moves and nothing here is made or shipped.

Now taking Christmas orders — place small orders by December 8 and larger orders by the end of November to guarantee completion before Christmas.

Home/How It Works

How it works

Two ways to order.

If it’s in the shop with a price on it, you can order it right now. If it’s custom, a photo, your own item, or a big run, we’ll quote it first. Either way, you approve a proof before anything is engraved.

Customize & Order

Shop products with set prices

Tumblers, slate coasters, keychains, business cards and anything else listed in the shop with a price. Customize it online, add it to your cart, send it through.

01 — CHOOSE

Choose

Pick a product from the shop.

02 — CUSTOMIZE

Customize

Your text, a font, the quantity. Upload a logo if you have one.

03 — REQUEST

Send your order request

Send it through with your contact details. Nothing is due yet.

04 — AGREE & PAY

Agreement & payment

We send your order agreement — the final price, pickup or shipping, and a date. Once you accept it, payment in full is due before anything is engraved — cash, cheque, e-Transfer, or Square/card.

05 — MAKE & COLLECT

Proof & engrave

You approve a to-scale mockup on the real material, we engrave exactly what you approved, and we let you know when it’s ready.

Request a Quote

Custom work, priced individually

Your own artwork, a photo engraving, an unusual item, something you already own, or a run bigger than the shop covers. Quotes are free and there’s no obligation. Like shop orders, one-off custom work is paid in full before engraving begins.

01 — SUBMIT

Submit your idea

A photo, a logo, a rough sketch on a napkin — images, PDF, SVG, AI, EPS or DXF. We'll clean it up for the laser at no charge.

02 — QUOTE

Receive a quote

We send it in writing as an order agreement — the price, the payment terms, pickup or shipping, and a date.

03 — ACCEPT

Accept it

Read the whole agreement, then accept it — or ask us to change it first. Not for you? No hard feelings.

04 — PROOF & PAY

Proof & payment

A to-scale mockup on the actual material to approve, and payment in full before anything is cut — cash, cheque, e-Transfer, or Square/card.

05 — PICK UP

Engrave & collect

It’s cut and hand-finished, then free local pickup in Bow Island — or shipped, with the date set in your agreement.

Bulk Quote

Bulk & business orders

Bulk is the one exception to “paid in full before engraving”: the materials have to be bought in specially for your run, so a deposit comes first and the balance follows completion.

A 50% deposit is due once you accept your order agreement, before materials are ordered — by cash, cheque, e-Transfer, bank transfer, or Square/card. The remaining balance is due after the order is completed. Materials are ordered after the deposit and can take roughly 2–3 months to arrive. Once they land, production is generally finished within one business week.

How payment works

Choose the payment method that works best for you. We accept cash, cheque, e-Transfer, and Square/card payments.

Every order starts as a request: we send you an order agreement with the final price, pickup or shipping and a specific date, and nothing is due until you accept it. For shop orders and one-off custom work, payment is then due in full before we begin engraving. You can pay by cash, cheque or e-Transfer, or by Square/card through your private order page once the agreement is accepted.

Bulk and business orders pay a 50% deposit once the agreement is accepted, before materials are ordered, with the remaining balance due after the order is completed. Bank transfer is also available for bulk and business orders.

Turnaround

How long it usually takes.

All estimates rather than guarantees — how detailed the engraving is and whether the material is on the shelf both move the date around. Your order agreement gives you a specific date.

In-stock materials

As little as 1–2 days

If the material is already here, many orders can be engraved within a day or two, depending on how complex the design is.

Out-of-stock materials

Up to a week,
then 1–2 days

If we need to order the material in, it usually takes up to a week to arrive. Engraving follows in roughly one to two days after that.

Bulk orders

2–3 months for materials

Materials are ordered after the 50% deposit and can take around two to three months to arrive. Production is generally finished within one business week after that.

Common questions

The things people ask.

How do I know whether to order or ask for a quote?

If it’s in the shop with a price, you can customize it and order it yourself. If you want a photo engraved, something that isn’t listed, you’re bringing your own item, or you need a large run, request a quote instead.

Still not sure? Ask for a quote. It costs nothing and we’ll point you the right way.

What’s the difference between Simple and Detailed?

Simple is text — names, monograms, dates — in the font you pick. Detailed is a logo, a graphic or other complex artwork. Each has its own set price, shown as you choose, and front & back engraving adds a set amount where it’s offered.

Photo engravings are always quoted per image. We confirm your design on the proof before anything is cut — nothing is a surprise on the invoice.

Can I choose the font?

Yes. Pick one from our font list when you customize — the same list on every product — and it never changes the price. Want something else? We can work with most fonts on Google Fonts; name it in the notes and we’ll confirm it on the proof.

If fonts aren’t your thing, leave it to us and we’ll match the style to the piece.

Do I have to have artwork ready?

No. A phone photo of a sketch, a screenshot, a handwritten note — we work with whatever you’ve got and clean it up for the laser at no charge.

Can you engrave something I already own?

Often, yes — tools, knives, coolers, bottles. Send a photo of the item and where you want the mark. Items you supply can react differently to engraving: we’ll check whether the material looks suitable before accepting the job, and we may decline irreplaceable or unsuitable pieces. Tumbler-size engraving starts around $25, and every item is quoted before any work begins.

When and how do I pay?

Choose the payment method that works best for you: cash, cheque, e-Transfer, or Square/card. Nothing is due until you accept your order agreement; then, for shop orders and one-off custom work, payment is due in full before we begin engraving.

Bulk and business orders are the exception. Once the order agreement is accepted, a 50% deposit is due before materials are ordered, with the remaining balance due after the order is completed. Bank transfer is also available for bulk and business orders.

To pay by Square/card, use the button on your order page when a payment is due — your card details go into Square’s own secure page, never this site.

Is tax added to my order?

No tax is added to orders at the moment, so the total you see is the total we’re working from.

Do you ship?

Local pickup in Bow Island is free and is how most orders go out. Shipping can be arranged, but our customers so far have all been local, so we haven’t set standard rates — shipping is quoted separately once we know where it’s going, and it’s never added to your total automatically.

How big can the engraving be?

The maximum design area is about 4.53″ × 4.53″ (115 mm × 115 mm). If your design is bigger than that, send it over anyway and we’ll tell you how it can be adapted.

Is there a setup fee?

No separate setup fee — artwork prep is included in the quoted price. For business logo tumblers it’s built into your first cup ($45); every cup after is $30, and reorders with artwork we already have on file are $30 a cup. A one-off custom cup is $42 all-in. Coasters, keychains and business cards include artwork prep in their listed prices.

Do you do discounts on larger orders?

Yes, and they apply automatically: business logo tumblers are 5% off from 25 cups and 10% off from 50; keychains are 5% off from 25; slate coasters are 5% off from 20 singles and 5% off from 5 sets of 4; and business cards drop to $1.10 Simple / $1.35 Detailed each from 100 cards, with an extra 5% off from 200.

For anything bigger or more custom, ask for a bulk quote and we’ll price your actual order.

When will I hear back?

We usually reply within 24 hours. Calling or texting is the fastest way to reach us.

Still deciding?

Just ask — it’s free.

Send a photo and a sentence about what you want. We’ll tell you what it takes and what it costs.
